Growing. I recently read: “You don’t blame a tree for not bearing fruit in winter, do you?” What I mean is, growth takes time and care, nourishment and feeling. It’s about falling — and falling again. And then getting back up. The process doesn’t always look pretty when you’re in the middle of it. Yet it’s one of the most beautiful opportunities we have as human beings: self-development. Giving water to a seed — picked up from a book, a conversation, a thought. After much patience, gently prodding the sprouting plant to discover what it’s becoming. And even when the seed has transformed, it keeps growing. And then seemingly withers, only to return stronger. That’s how I want to keep learning throughout my life. That’s how I keep planting seeds wherever I go. Figuratively, of course — I’m not exactly known for my green thumb.”
